+ When to schedule your newborn session?

Booking in your 2nd trimester is recommended. We will occasionally have some last minute spots available so please never hesitate to ask!

+ When is the best time for a newborn photography session?

The best time to photograph your newborn is during the first 14 days of life. This is when they’re more flexible, calm & sleepy while being moved around.

+ My baby was born already. Am I too late to book?

We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests. Don't worry, there are plenty of other options for your little one. We recommend our wrapped mini session for older babies.

+ How do I book my session?

The booking process is pretty easy.

1. Complete the contact form located here.
2. Sign the contract and pay the deposit.
3. Your session is now Booked!

+ Where do newborn sessions take place?

Newborn sessions take place in our home studio located in Spring, Tx, 77373. Our studio offers everything needed for a successful, comfortable session. Full address is provided upon booking.

+ What should I wear for my session?

We suggest either Grey & Black or neutral tones like cream, blush, browns & soft blues. Avoid name brands, busy patterns, pictures, or words on them. Loose-fitting tank tops, a simple maxi or knee-length dresses work best. Pack a spare change of clothes just in case there are any little accidents. + How do I prepare for my newborn's session?

We will send you a prep guide with specific instructions and tips prior to your session.

+ Can I bring my own props/items for the session?

It's not necessary to bring any clothes for the baby, We will provide everything for your session, this includes full access to our collection of organic & vintage props, knits, wraps, headbands, backdrops and other props from all over the world. Still, if you have something special (grandma's knitted blanket, sonogram photos, etc) that you’d like to include just let me know before our session.

+ Can I be photographed with my baby? What about siblings, is that extra?

YES! Of course we have collections that include family & siblings.

+ "Can you edit that?"

We apply our own editing style to every photo (skin retouching and color correction). For special requests, please contact us for a custom quote.

+ Can I have the unedited images from my session?

We don’t deliver raw files to clients. This is because the editing of the images is a part of our finished product.

+ When will my photos be ready?

A sneak peek will be posted on our Facebook or Instagram page within the first week. Your Complete Online gallery will be available within 4 weeks after your session.

+ Are prints included?

Only digital files are included with our packages. However, you can order prints and products right from your online gallery. Ask us about our Heirloom artwork, which are optional and additional to any package.

*+ How much is your deposit?**

All sessions require a non-refundable retainer fee of $150.00, the remaining balance is due 3 days prior to your session.

+ Scheduling your fine-art maternity session?

It's never too early to schedule your maternity session. We recommend a 4-6 week notice. Maternity sessions are best captured between 28-34 weeks of pregnancy.

+ Should I get my hair and makeup done professionally?

Yes! We highly recommend professional hair and makeup for maternity sessions.

+ What should I wear for my maternity session?

This is one of the most important elements of your session. We have a collection of feminine form-fitting dresses, maternity gowns, silk draping fabrics, and lace robes that highlight your gorgeous belly and curves, so you don't need to worry about bringing many clothing options.

+ What happens if the weather is bad?? (Outdoors Sessions only)

Cloudy weather is not a problem. However, if it rains we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.

+ When is the best time to schedule a Cake Smash session?

When your baby is confidently sitting on their own is a great time for a cake smash session. This can be any time around the 11-14 month mark for most babies. If you need to use these images for invitations, it’s best to book your child’s cake smash two months before their birthday.

+ Is the cake included?

Yes! We do provide the cake.

+ How long does a session last?

Sessions last between 20 min - 2 hours, depending on the package you choose. We begin the session with some pre-smash portraits, followed by the cake smash and finish off with a luxury milk bath!

+ What if my child doesn't eat the cake?

This does happen, and that’s okay. Some children love the cake smash and dive right in, while others gently take small bites from the cake. Either way, you'll have beautiful photos to treasure.

+ What if my child has allergies?

If your child is allergic to anything that could be found in a cake please let me know ahead of the session so we can address this individually.

Images shall not be reproduced for commercial use, editorial, or submitted to contests without written consent from Karen Daniel Photography, LLC. According to US Copyright Law, Karen Daniel Photography, LLC retains the copyright to all images. Even those you purchase. Copying, scanning, or reproducing images is strictly prohibited. Print-screening images from the Karen Daniel Photography website is against the law. Prices are subject to change without notice and are non-negotiable. Due to the custom nature of photographic products, no refunds will be issued. By hiring Karen Daniel Photography, LLC you agree to these terms.
